Wild Atlantic Wakame (Certified Organic, Raw) also called Alaria has a delicate, mild taste, succulent texture and is packed with nutrition. It is our preferred sea vegetable for miso soup. Alaria is a good dietary source of Vitamin A, [beta carotene], iron, potassium, magnesium, chlorophyll, enzymes, trace elements, Vitamin B's and dietary fiber. Use in raw soups, cut up into salads, blended into sauces, dressings.. For cooked: used mostly in soups, Alaria can also be marinated, blanched or steamed for use in salads, or quick roasted and enjoyed as "chips."

Our wild alaria comes directly to you without processing or washing out any of its mineral richness. Please check for occasional tiny hidden pebbles or shells in the fronds. Some plants may be partially covered with a white powder of natural salts and sugars that precipitate from their cells during storage. To minimize, seal unused plants in this ziplock out of sunlight, heat or moisture.

Our Alaria is certified organic by OCIA and we voluntarily test for heavy metal, chemical, and microbiological contaminants. Also a Raw Food. Available in 2 oz.
Low temp dried, enzyme active. It has more dietary fiber (45%) and soluble fiber (16%) than oat bran.

It is a good source of chlorophyll, enzymes, beta carotene and B vitamins and meets all OCIA Organic Standards for Sustainable harvesting and handling.
