Aronia Berries also known as Purple Chokeberry are a vibrant small berry measuring about 5-9 millimeters in diameter and are more commonly known and used in European countries. Its fast growing notoriety and use here in North America is largely due to the high antioxandant value ORAC scores of 7300 mm per gram, one of the highest values of all red and black berries. The ultra rich colouring of the Aronia Berry Powder is due to the abundance of concentrated phytochemicals. Aronia contains high amounts of a distinctive class of flavonoids that show a high ability to penetrate cell membranes and provide protection. Research has linked anthocyanins to an increase in peripheral circulation, increased vision, enhanced immune systems, and wound healing.
