Bamboo is a group of perennial evergreens belonging to the grass family Poaceae, subfamily Bambusoideae, tribe Bambuseae.

Bamboo extracts have been used in Chinese medicines for healing and treating infections. People have noticed relief for pain, stiffness, swelling and aches, increased retentive faculty, improved sleep quality and skin beautification. It is a low-calorie source of potassium and a good source of protein. The extract may have a faint scent of bamboo, and a favorable and refreshing taste with little sweetness and bitterness.
