Reishi Mushrooms - Thinly Sliced and Dried - 200g (Raw, Organic)

Be your own elixir master with our full line of dried mushrooms.  They are also great in teas, soups, smoothies, sauces, salads, soups and meals.  Rehydrate and eat them raw or grind them into smaller pieces or powder.  They are very versatile and easy to use.

Reishi mushrooms have been used to help treat many different health problems including Aids, Allergies, Asthma, Arthritis, Acne, Cancer, Cataracts, Colds, Coughs, Constipation, Coronary Heart Disease, Diabetes, Dermatitis, Hepatitis, Hair Loss, Hypertension, Hypo tension, Hemorrhoids, Lupus, Ulcers..... just to name a few.

Our Reishi mushrooms are log grown and certified organic.

How to Prepare Your Reishi mushrooms.

Chinese herbalists typically recommend 3-5 grams per day for maintenance and higher doses for serious illness.  Reishi is best taken with Vitamin C to assist the body with absorption of the mushroom.

The Reishi mushroom is too woody to be consumed thus all recipes call for the cooking or soaking out of the beneficial properties.  Our thinly sliced Reishi mushrooms make it easy to prepare.

Tea: Reishi tea is the traditional way of preparing the mushroom. The dried Reishi mushroom slices can be soaked overnight in water, then boiled (with the water) for 5-10 minutes. Strain and enjoy. Or bring water to a boil and simmer for 2-3 hours. The bitter taste can be overcome by adding sweetener or juice. Tea can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days and served warm or cold. Do not use an aluminum pan for preparation.

Making the tea is not an exact science so you can estimate the amount of mushrooms to use.   The flavor of the tea may seem terrible at first but very enjoyable after you've had it a few times!!

Tonic: Put 15 grams of Reishi mushrooms in a bottle of rice wine, brandy or your favorite spirit and soak for at least 6 weeks (the longer the better). A small glass a day for maintenance.

Soup: Simmer the ganoderma mushroom pieces in your favorite soup for 1-3 hours at a low heat.  Reishi can also be added to the water of your vegetable steamer for a unique earthy taste to your veggies.

Bought the reishi because of it's healing powers.  Your comment that making the tea is not "exact science" sure is right.  After some thorough (a few hours) of goggling I finally found a site with the closest thing to a "recipe".  Apparently traditional medicine recommends 3-5g of reishi per day.  Since the tea will keep for  several days in fridge make a larger batch using following ratio:   30g of reishi to 10-11 cups water.  Boil 2-3 hours.  Drinking 1 to 1.5 cups of tea per day will provide the 3-5g recommended.  --  Seems like a large batch so I've cut to 15g reishi to 6 cups water.  Boiling as we speak.  Will let you know about taste.  Hope this helps anyone in somewhat of a dilemma about making the tea.
