Cellulite is caused primarily by vascular changes that effect superficial fat under the skin’s surface. Changes most often stem from poor circulation in subcutaneous tissues leading to poor drainage of toxins and fluids in blood, fat, connective tissues and lymph. The decrease in circulation and removal of toxins from tissues weaken collagen fibers in the outer skin cells. The result is what we know as ‘cellulite’.

Women are more prone to cellulite than men because their subcutaneous fat layer is structured differently and has a greater capacity to hold more fat. Women also have more fat-storage receptors in cellulite-prone areas and are more effected by hormonal changes which play a critical role in blood flow and drainage from fat, connective tissue and lymphatics.

Our two ‘Trim and Tone’ products created to support cellulite reduction are formulated to help prevent the underlying causes of cellulite development and to assist in eliminating existing cellulite. The products include active herbs and essential oils that work in harmony to stimulate subcutaneous circulation and thermogenesis (heat creation or cellular energy production). These actions increase removal of fats, congested tissues and toxins. As toxins are released, an abundance of antioxidants are available to help ward off any damaging effects to healthy tissues. Other plant actives stimulate lipolytic (fatburning) enzymes and help prevent the formation of new fat cells.

Herbs are present to improve the synthesis of collagen around venous walls which improves skin firmness and elasticity, while others help strengthen capillary and vein integrity. Hazel nut oil and several of the essential oils included also have astringent properties that help give a temporary tightening effect.

The active herbs and essential oils are available in two forms for your preference – a rapid, deep-penetrating oil, and a more moisturizing butter that penetrates skin over a longer period of time.
