My horse approves January 24, 2022 Reviewer: Helene Howard from Barrie, ON Canada   Yes that is right. Full of vitamins and protein. I made my own organic horse feed. Oats have 9% protein.  Equine athletes required 12% protein in their diet when in training and competing. To make that increase from 9 to 12 % all I needed to do was add 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds to their 2-3 liter oat portion. Sunflower seeds have about 30% protein. Most organic sunflower seeds come from China, these our horses rejected while they happily gobbled up American or European seeds.  I use them in my own food as much as possible and even add a handful to my home made almond milk  for added protein.
