Chamomile Flowers Whole - 4 oz (Organic)

Also Known as: Hungarian chamomile, wild chamomile, German Chamomile
Dried Chamomile is part of the Daisy family. Commonly known used with lemon in a warm decoction to help with sleep or stress. Other not so known uses have been for inflammation, anti-fungal properties, anti-septic properties (The antiseptic powers of Chamomile are stated to be 120 times stronger than sea-water). May also have a blood thinning effect. Has a bitter taste on its own, but with a nice aroma.
To make a tea: only a small amount is needed (ie. 1oz dried flowers in a pint of hot water) Make sure to use a covered container when preparing, in
order to prevent the escape of steam, as the medicinal value of the
flowers can be considerably impaired by any evaporation, and the
infusion should be allowed to stand on the flowers for at least 10 minutes before straining off. Popular to be combined with ginger in a warmed tea to help with digestive issues, flatulence, gout, heartburn, and more.
Also effective for external use in poultices for inflammation issues of the skin. Also popular for relief of tooth aches and ear aches. to infusions into skin lotions.
Caution: Do not use: if pregnant or nursing, have possible allergies to ragweed or chrysanthemum, if on blood thinning or other medications.
