Cinnamon - CASSIA (POWDER) - 8 oz (Certified Organic)

This is the most common cinnamon sold in stores. Also known as Korintje Cinnamon predominantly from Indonesia. It is a member of the same family as true cinnamon (sweet ceylon), but it has a stronger flavor thus requiring less in volume in recipes. The name cassia is from the Greek kassia, meaning to strip off the bark. Its use in Chinese medicine goes back to at least 2700 B.C.E. where it is referred to in several herbal formulations.  Contains 3% oil
