Morrocco Method products are 100% plant-, botanical-, and marine-based products with natural smells and no foaming. You will detox
as you use our products so expect a possible detoxing period of from 3
to 7 days to strip off the residues, wax build ups, and old chemicals
and for toxins to be removed. This will cause drying of hair, matting,
and dullness. But do not be alarmed. These effects are a sign that your
old products were very toxic and that your hair and scalp are
experiencing detoxing. When this period is over, your hair will
immediately be healthier, more radiant and managable, and most of all,
will be restored back to natural hair follicles. Thus continues your
journey with Morroco Method for the most luxurious hair you have ever
Selecting the Proper Shampoo While there are no hard and fast rules for shampooing your hair, one
thing is certain: proper scalp hygiene is as critical to luxurious hair
as oral hygiene is to healthy teeth. Your scalp is like the soil in a
garden. If kept clean, uncontaminated and nourished with nutrients for
proper blood circulation, the hair growing in it will flourish and
First and foremost is the matter of choosing shampoos that satisfy
all these requirements: highest quality natural ingredients, totally
organic, non-detergent and containing no artificial colors or scents.
Many commercial shampoos on the market—even those claiming to be
“natural”— contain artificial colors, perfumes and detergents that dry
and damage hair, clogging follicle openings rather than cleansing your
Detergents and color additives leave harmful coatings on the hair.
Synthetic scents dry out hair, damaging the shafts by making them
overly brittle. The scalp becomes plugged up, disturbing its natural pH
balance. Dandruff, itchiness, premature thinning and significant,
eventual hair loss are the undesirable results.
In addition to harsh chemicals, shampoos containing such ingredients
as berries, tomatoes, guava, etc. are wisely avoided. You need an
effective natural shampoo for your hair, not a fruit salad! However
enticingly “organic” they may sound, these not-so-naturally derived
fruit and vegetable ingredients tend to plug up pores, dry out hair and
disturb pH balance, which damages the natural texture of your hair.
Contrary to ‘conventional wisdom,’ it is not necessary to purchase
special formulas for dry, normal or oily hair. In fact, these
supposedly special-purpose shampoos contain even more harmful, toxic
MORROCCO METHOD SHAMPOOS balance your scalp and hair chemistry to eliminate excessive oiliness or extremely dry hair.
When selecting a shampoo, trust your nose! If the shampoo has no
synthetic scent and smells wholesome and appealing instead, it is very
likely a good shampoo for you. The ‘smell test’ is highly reliable and
individualized. Each of us has a different chemical balance that
changes with circumstance and age. There is no single shampoo that can
be recommended indefinitely for everyone.
Your shampooing regimen should ideally contain three or more organic
shampoos that are rotated regularly. Over a period of time, scalp and
hair can become resistant/ immune to a single shampoo, upsetting
alkaline pH balance. Regularly alternating shampoos helps your hair and
scalp stay properly receptive to thorough cleansing and nourishing
MORROCCO METHOD SHAMPOOS are based on the principles of rotation and
totally natural methods of caring for your hair. We have developed five
shampoos, formulated according to the five elements which constitute,
in varying degrees, the essence of every living thing in the universe:
Air, Earth, Fire Water and Ether. These Elemental Shampoos contain only
the finest organic ingredients derived from all over the world.
MORROCCO METHOD SHAMPOOS (and body wash products) harness the power
of nature’s most potent herbs, oils and minerals; they are formulated,
blended and bottled according to the 13 Moon Lunar Astrology Cycle to
maximize their vitality.

When to Shampoo Numerous conflicting views on the subject of shampooing have many
people thoroughly confused. While some theories advise shampooing every
day, others insist that cleansing daily dries and damages the hair.
Fortunately it is not as complicated as it may seem. A simple, common
sense rule to follow is: Observe your hair and decide for yourself how
often you need to shampoo. For many people, shampooing every other day
maintains a healthy balance of scalp and hair.
On the other hand, people whose brushing habits are correct and
consistent have often found they can easily extend shampooing to every
three or four days. Any of these regimens can be effective for you. As
long as your new growth of hair is maintaining its luster, health and
vitality, the cleansing schedule you are following is right for you.
How to Shampoo At first glance, recommendations that we always lather up twice
sound like a gimmick to sell more shampoo. But there is actual value in
this advice. Perfect shampooing has two parts: The first is loosening
up debris to free the hair and scalp of dirt and dead cells. Since you
might massage these unwanted microbes back into follicle openings if
you shampooed only once, you are well advised to do a second shampoo.
This ensures that no contaminants will retard new hair growth, damage
oil glands or upset the natural fall-out and reproductive cycles of
your hair. Instead, the bad stuff all goes down the drain!
The second shampooing (with massage of your clean head) also
stimulates blood flow to the scalp and opens follicles, allowing
nourishment for each root, bulb and hair shaft. When every follicle is
adequately nourished and each sebaceous oil gland is properly
activated, your own natural oils are distributed to lubricate the
entire scalp and all hair shafts. A natural coating of oil is vital to
the healthy maintenance of scalp and hair. It keeps the outer layer of
hair moisturized and prevents drying.
Step One: Wet your hair and apply shampoo to your scalp. Massage lightly into hair and scalp, and then rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Step Two: After rinsing, take a bit more
shampoo and massage it gently into clean hair and scalp. Rinse out
carefully until no shampoo remains and finish with cool water. Towel
dry. Now you are ready to brush and style. FAQ's

What is the difference between shale and tar?
Coal tar is a petroleum product and very damaging to one's all
around good health not to be used on the body, while shale is a rich
natural deposit of decomposed trees. Millions of years ago, large
forests of ferns and evergreens decomposed and formed large reservoirs
underneath the earth surface of very rich shale. We get our shale from
Germany in a natural state which is rich in various rare trace
minerals. These trace minerals are healing in varying degrees for the
scalp and hair alike. This is a cure all for a multitude of scalp
problems, plus a general radiant effect on the hair itself giving it
new life force and brilliance. There is no comparison between tar and
shale. And one should avoid all products with tar/coal tar in its
your shampoo may be hazardous to your health
How toxic is your shampoo? More than you might think! That bottle
which promises you thick, luxurious lather and beautiful bubbles may
not only be damaging your hair, but its ingredients could also lead to
diseases, hair thinning and loss, and even scalp damage.
The culprits behind the dangers in most shampoos are surfactants
called Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS) and related compounds. SLS is
possibly the most dangerous ingredient a consumer can find in most
shampoos. So potent is SLS, studies have linked it to serious skin and
scalp irritation and disease, hair loss and damage and the ability of
the chemical to create nitrate compounds which have been linked to
cancer and cell damage.
SLS is often disguised by a variety of chemical names such as
diethanolime) (DEA, triethanolamine (TEA) and monoethanolamine (MEA).
All are common in almost all shampoos. These ingredients, plus other
equally dangerous cousins to SLS, such as Sodium Laurel Sulfate, Sodium
Laureth Sulfate, Disodium Laureth Sulfosucinate are made by separating
Lauric acid from coconut oil and treating with sulfuric acid, or by
making lauric acid synthetically, or Lauamide MEA, Cocamide DEA,
Cocamide MEA, made from Lauric acid and ammonia. Even hair care
products that label themselves as "natural" may contain these
potentially fatal ingredients. Sodium Laurel Sulfate. Three
words that every consumer of hair care products should be aware of and
know what they mean. Read your shampoo's label and you'll probably find
it contains Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS), or one of its derivatives,
such as Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). DEA, TEA or MEA. It is a
chemically toxic surfactant, which means it is a wetting and foaming
agent. The purpose of SLS is to lower the surface tension in the water,
allowing the shampoo to spread out more easily and to penetrate when it
is applied to the hair. Additionally, since manufacturers believe that
consumers equate lots of suds with cleaning strength, SLS gives a high
level of foaming power to the product. It is a chemical ingredient very
similar to liquid dishwashing soap. In fact, traditionally, it was used
in industrial factories as a compound to degrease engines. And
consumers should be aware that compounds found in SLS are hazardous. In
"Dangerous Beauty" by Mark Fearer, it is revealed that "... in tests,
animals that were exposed to SLS experienced eye damage, along with
depression, labored breathing, diarrhea, severe skin irritation,
corrosion and death."
The American College of Toxicology states that SLS and its cousin
Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) can cause malformation in children's
eyes. Other research indicates SLS may harm the immune system,
especially within the skin. Cosmetic Science reports that the detergent
action of SLS may damage the derma's cellular ability to maintain
moisture. This is why there are many reports of dryness, roughness and
redness and brittle skin by users of shampoos that contain this harmful
ingredient. So potent a chemical is SLS, scientists in Japan have used
SLS as a laboratory agent to deliberately cause mutations in test tube
bacteria, changing the genetic information found in the bacteria's DNA.
Despite the lather, products containing SLS does not mean one is
cleaning the hair in a healthy fashion. The cleaning power is
overwhelming, stripping the hair. This is why people often use a
conditioner after shampooing with SLS, in order to put "manageability"
back. And, usually, the conditioner contains more chemicals, creating a
viscous cycle guaranteed to result in dry, brittle, lifeless hair and
damage to the skin, scalp and hair. SLS does more than strip
the hair of its natural oils. It removes beneficial bacteria that are
essential to maintaining a healthy scalp and head of hair. Once the
"good" bacteria have been vanquished, harmful germs have an open
playing field, resulting in rashes, hair loss and allergic reactions.
A typical shampoo contains about 50% sodium laurel sulfate, some
sodium sterate and about 40% water. In addition to this brew,
manufactures may add a baffling array of ingredients that read like a
chemistry book. Check the label on many shampoos and any one of the
following may be listed: Sodium Laureth Sulfate, MEA, DEA, TEA Laurel
Sulfate, Cocomide or coconut oil. All of these compounds are commonly
used surfactants related to SLS and have the same potential health
dangers. DEA and MEA are often "neutralized" in the
manufacturing process. Consumers can tell if they are being exposed to
these harmful compounds when names like Cocamide DEA or MEA or
Lauramide DEA are listed on the label. These chemicals are capable of
disrupting human hormones and may form cancer-causing nitrates. Dr.
Samuel Epstien, Professor of Environmental Health at the University of
Illinois has said, "repeated skin applications of DEA based detergents
resulted in a major increase in the incidence of two cancers-liver and
kidney cancers." The health evidence against SLS and related
compounds grows every day. Reports in the mainstream press and
scientific journals increasingly sound alarms about the damages to
which these chemicals are linked. A Consumer's Dictionary of Cosmetic
Ingredients by Ruth Winters states that "shampoos are among the most
frequently cited complaints to the FDA. Reports include eye irritation,
scalp irritation, tangled hair, swelling of hands, face and arms, and
split and frizzy hair."
In a November, 1998 report in the Wall Street Journal, a study
linked SLS to cataracts and nitrate absorption. During the
manufacturing process, SLS comes into contact with other chemical
compounds, most notably triethanolamine (TEA) and
N-nitrosodiethanolamine (NDELA). This interaction creates nitrate
compounds, which can enter the body.
Chemical absorption by the skin is particularly acute with shampoos.
Our skin is not a uniform barrier. Hair follicles, sweat and sebaceous
glands are minute holes in the derma layer. Investigations by the Oak
Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee found that structural factors of
the skin, such as hairiness, influence what chemicals may be absorbed
into our bodies. SLS was found to increase the rate of absorption as it
reacts with the chemicals, preservatives and dyes found in many hair
care products. They are easily absorbed through the scalp and skin and
can accumulate over time in tissue and organs, such as the brain,
causing chronic toxic effects and can stay in the body for up to seven
Unquestionably , SLS is the most damaging ingredient found in most
shampoos. It is the standard compound used in scientific testing labs
as a skin irritant. Industrially, SLS is used to strip machinery of
grease and is the cleaning agent found in car wash detergents. When
added to hair care products, SLS and its destructive twin, SLES, have
the potential to cause chronic skin irritation and strip the hair of
beneficial oils and bacteria. This damage can lead to thinning hair and
noticeable hair loss. Shampoo makers are beholden to SLS
because they believe the consumer wants sudsing action and, more
importantly, because it is a very cheap ingredient. With almost half of
a shampoo's weight comprised of SLS, manufacturers are reaping huge
profits at the consumer's expense in the pocketbook as well as risking
the long-term health of the user. It behooves anyone purchasing hair
care products to be an educated buyer. Always check the label. Read the
ingredients. Be aware. Ingredients such as SLS not only can cause
damage to hair, but to one's long term health, as well. ********************************************************************************************* about the Morrocco Method
