Shipping


Your shipping rates are displayed in your shopping cart and at the time of check-out . You may choose the appropriate rate that applies to you. If you choose "Pickup", please read the Pick-Up orders section for pick-up times and details. Times may change so please refer to this section for details.



Free Shipping

Offered in Canada only. The Free Shipping option is available when the value of the qualifying products in your cart subtotal to be $100 or more (before tax). Offer is only valid on retail orders shipped to one Canadian address. There is a drop down menu of different shipping options that you must select from. All customers must choose a shipping option at checkout. If you choose a shipping option with an associated price beside it, then that is the cost that will be added to your invoice. If you would like the free shipping option, you must choose the free shipping option for your delivery method, it is not automatically applied to your order.

Exclusions apply (USA, NU, NT,YT). For these areas UP TO 50% discount off shipping costs will be applied to the order after it is placed. Note: discounts only applicable to Canada Post/USPS regular/expedited service only.
For remote areas in Canada, you will be contacted before the order has been processed for shipping costs.

This promotion is for a limited time & can be modified or terminated at any time without advance notice. Offer is not valid on previous purchases.


Items that qualify towards free shipping will have the free shipping logo . Items that do not qualify towards free shipping are frozen and refrigerated items (cheese, ice cream, etc) that require a faster service. **If you order a refrigerated or frozen item, regardless if it is the only item in the order or there are other items added that do qualify towards free shipping, the free shipping option will not be available at check out. Priority Service must be chosen in order for the parcel to be shipped.

Free shipping items are sent via Canada Post Expedited Service. Faster shipping methods (ie. Xpresspost, Priority) and other types of couriers are not covered under the Free Shipping offer.




Delivery Times


Upaya Naturals is not a courier service. Couriers (Canada Post and Fedex) are separate entities that transport your parcels to you. We have no control over delivery times or delays or mis-sorts from the courier. We can give you an estimate on typical delivery times to major centers however, under no circumstances should this be taken as a guarantee.

Canadian orders are shipped via Canada Post or Fedex (as chosen) from our warehouse in Toronto or Barrie, Ontario, Canada usually by the next business day from the time of payment. Business days do not include the weekend, holidays or after hours. Orders will not be processed or shipped during these times. Canadian residents should receive orders within 10 business days (usually within 5 depending upon location).




Delivery to USA


US orders are most often sent by Canada Post/USPS from our warehouse in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. If your order is over $100 of qualifying items towards Free Shipping, you may be eligible for a shipping discount of UP TO 50% depending upon your location. Please note: Delivery rates at check out will only show the full ship cost. Once the order has been placed, a shipping discount will be applied, if applicable, before processing payment for the order. If payment is made via Paypal, the ship discount will be applied as an in-store credit that will automatically apply to the next order you place.


Delivery times will depend on the specific order, method of shipping, and location. Your order may be subject to import duties and/or taxes upon reaching the destination country. Any additional charges are the responsibility of the addressee as Upaya Naturals has no control over any foreign duty or additional taxes charged. Also, with regards to Customs, some products offered by Upaya Naturals require substantial processing in order to get clearance into other countries. Please note that order shipments returned to Upaya Naturals due to incomplete/incorrect postal information, failure to pay import taxes or custom duties, or refused entry by customs will be subject to a 20% restocking fee. If any items are refused into the destination country, all shipping costs including return, will be the responsibility of the purchaser (non-refundable).




International Delivery

Payment for international orders outside of USA, are payable only through Paypal to the shipping address confirmed with paypal for the order. Once your order is placed you will be sent an email with shipping options to choose from. Once shipping method has been chosen, an updated invoice will be sent to you and the order open for you to complete payment through paypal.

Shipping costs for international orders will be handled on case-by-case basis. International orders may be subject to import duties and/or taxes upon reaching the destination country. Any additional charges are the responsibility of the addressee as Upaya Naturals has no control over any foreign duty or additional taxes charged. Also, with regards to Customs, some products offered by Upaya Naturals require substantial processing in order to get clearance into other countries. In some cases we will not be able to process these types of item sales outside of Canada. Please note that order shipments returned to Upaya Naturals due to incomplete/incorrect postal information, failure to pay import taxes or custom duties, or refused entry by customs will be subject to a 20% restocking fee. Any extra fees/duties/customs are the responsibility of the purchaser. If any items are refused into the destination country, all shipping costs including return, will be the responsibility of the purchaser.




Oversized/Heavy Items or Remote Delivery Areas


Some items/orders are particularly heavy or large. Therefore, the posted shipping & handling rates cannot be honored for these items. In these cases (such as heavy orders, liquids, appliances, bulk foods, etc) Upaya Naturals will contact you with shipping cost options at which point you can choose the method that suits your needs, prior to processing the order. If your order is being shipped to a particularly remote location (the Canadian North for example), you may also be contacted with the applicable shipping costs prior to order processing. Upaya Naturals may not be able to honour rates to Northern/remote locations. These shipping policies are to ensure that we can find the most economical method to ship orders for both Upaya Naturals and our customers.




Damaged Parcels

If an item is damaged due to shipping, is incorrect or missing an item, you must report this at the time of receipt to Upaya Naturals. Upaya Naturals will not be held responsible for any items that have not been reported within 7 days of receipt of your order from the courier, or from our pick-up location. Emailing any pertinent details and accompanying photos of the damage including the box, wrapping, etc. is required to further assist you. Responses from couriers may take between 5-10 business days, so please keep items including the shipping box and wrapping in case it is needed.

If equipment is defective or needs repair and is covered by a Manufacturer's Warranty, please contact the manufacturer immediately.




General

As with all orders, you will be sent a tracking number from Upaya Naturals and Canada Post (if applicable) once your order has shipped. This is automatic and will go to the email address you have entered on your account. If you have entered in the email address incorrectly no information can be sent, so please check it carefully before proceeding with your order. These email notifications may also be filtered to your spam/junk/deleted folder, please check there before contacting us.
Items that are returned to Upaya Naturals due to the wrong address being entered by the customer or due the customer refusing the items or not picking them up from the Postal Outlet when carded, will incur additional shipping charges and/or restocking and processing fees.

When a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, that holiday may be applied to the next business day. As such, Post Offices/Couriers will be closed, and there will be no collection or delivery of mail. Orders placed during or around holidays may have delayed delivery times as the couriers experience high volumes during this time. If you have a time sensitive order, please place your order well ahead of time, and choose a faster shipping method such as Xpresspost or Priority.

Taxes are applicable to shipping rates. HST is charged on shipping for: BC-12%, ON-13%, NL-13%, NS-15%, NB-13% and the remaining provinces 5% GST only.


Cold Weather Shipping

A note about Kelp Noodles and some glass liquids by Toothsoap or Isun Skincare. Due to the cold weather, and sub-zero temperatures that dip even lower overnight, there is the possibility that the items will freeze. The kelp noodles are unusable when frozen. The glass containers from LIQUID Toothsoap and only some of the mist bottles from Isun are freezing and cracking, especially to areas where delivery time is more than 4 days and/or the location is experiencing very cold temperatures. Although the insulated containers do help, it does not necessarily guarantee that the items will not be damaged from the cold temperatures. IF you know you live in a very cold part of Canada - do not take the chance of ordering these products (especially during a free shipping offer that has regular service). Choosing a faster service like Xpresspost or Priority paired with the Insulated container is usually sufficient, but not for all parts of Canada (that are more than 4 days delivery or have extremely cold temperatures). This is your choice and we advise to wait until the temperatures warm up for these products (there will be other specials). If you insist on taking the gamble, we will need your confirmation that you understand that you are responsible if the items crack from freezing or if for the Kelp Noodles arrive frozen. We do all that we can to help prevent this but we cannot control Mother Nature. If you are unsure, check your local weather or location, or ask us. We can only estimate and cannot offer guarantees.


Warm Weather Shipping

A note about items that may melt or spoil during warm or hotter weather. Due to the warm or hot weather conditions, certain items such as chocolate products, fermented products or products that need to stay cool may melt or spoil during transit. This may occur especially to areas where delivery time is more than 4 days and/or the location is experiencing very hot temperatures. Although the optional insulated containers and ice packs that are available at an additional cost, do help, it does not necessarily guarantee that the items will not melt or spoil. Choosing a faster service like Xpresspost or Priority paired with the Insulated container and ice packs is also helpful, but not for all parts of Canada (that are more than 2 days delivery or have extremely hot temperatures). Ordering heat sensitive items, is your choice and we advise to wait until the temperatures are cooler for these products. By purchasing any products described above you understand that you are responsible if the items arrive melted or spoiled. If you are unsure, check your local weather or location, or ask us. We can only estimate and cannot offer guarantees.
